Print Ready Artwork

Print Ready Artwork is a digital file type which allows us to print your design. Ideally we prefer these to be supplied in PDF format, there is less that can go working with a PDF. Although we can accept JPEGs, a PDF is usually of a higher quality as JPEGs are flattened image files.
  • Images to be CMYK and high resolution which is at least 300dpi.
  • 3mm bleed on all edges to be included.
  • All fonts must be embedded within the document.
  • We prefer artwork to have corner crops marks added.

What is CMYK or Process Colour?

CMYK or Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black are used in the industry standard colour mixing techniques to achieve full colour printing of just about everything from Leaflets and flyers, to full colour brochures and Posters. When CMYK are mixed in the correct proportions they produce millions of colour possibilities. The range of colour that CMYK can produce is vast, but it has a limit as is not as wide a range as that of RGB. As a direct result of this bright colours with intense colour values such as Orange, Green, and Blue can sometimes appear to dull or sometime dirty, however red will appear almost the same with either process. We are able reproduce almost every colour imaginable, but for those specific colours which are not available in CMYK, then we will usually use a ‘SPOT’ colour .

Alternations to Artwork Supplied

A charge may be made to cover any additional work not included in the quotation. This covers any alterations to the artwork supplied. Where such work is required, a price will be given and agreed prior to the commencement of the additional work wherever possible.

Safe Zone and Bleed

All images, text and logos etc, apart from background images need to be placed 3mm away from the edge of the page. Do not use rule borders near the edge of the page.

If you are supplying fonts for an editable document then please ensure you have supplied the Mac or Open version. We have a large number of font libraries and their variations. However, we recommend that you supply your fonts that were used within the document. Alternatively, please convert all text within the document into vector or outline. For PDF files, make sure you have embedded the fonts within the document.

Process Colour

All artwork supplied must be based in CMYK unless a spot/pantone colour is also specified.

Printing Resolutions

When scanning or supplying images for print, please ensure that they have a resolution of at least 300dpi.

Supplying Files

For best results send files in PDF format. If you supply files that are RGB or unspecified spot/pantone colours they will automatically be converted to CMYK, this can slightly change colours as they may appear different from what is seen on screen.

Paper Size and Bleeds

When supplying files, please allow a 3mm bleed on all sides of artwork. When positioning text, please allow 3mm from the edge of the finished document to allow for cutting.

Colour Reproduction

We will provide you with a colour proof copy on request, but this is not an exact colour match.
